Junior Tennis Rackets & Kids Tennis Rackets
Our selection of junior tennis rackets includes rackets suitable for absolute beginners, as well as for older and more advanced players, from 17 to 26 inches.
Junior Tennis Rackets Guide
Junior tennis rackets of 17 inches are the smallest and the lightest, suitable for children younger than 4 and shorter than about 100 cm. These rackets are easy to handle making them comfortable for the tiny hands.
The size of the junior tennis rackets should then be increased progressively by age, eg 23 inches for children up to 7 years old, 25 inches up to 10 years old, and 26 inches up to 12 years old. Generally, a child older than 12 doesn't require junior tennis rackets anymore, and is ready to start using adult rackets, although it will of course depend on the size and strength of the child. See our size guide for more information.
Junior tennis rackets are generally only available in one grip size ie Grip 0 so you do not need to worry about grip size until they progress to full size rackets.
Weight should also not be a major criterion when selecting junior tennis rackets; most of them are made of modern, very light materials, so that kids can handle them with ease.
Our fine selection of junior tennis rackets brands includes Head, Wilson, Babolat, and Tecnifibre, so that the children can start playing with the best equipment available – including some lighter versions of the rackets used by today's greatest players, such as Nadal, Roddick, Murray and Federer.
