Just an update on my previous (12 December 2013) review: Based on the original lack-of-tackiness, I contacted Karakal directly and they were kind enough to supply an additional pkg noting that it may take a few games before the tackiness became apparent. Unfortunately, this has not proven to be the case and although the overwrap is comfortable to use, for someone looking for a definite tackiness to their racquet grip, the X-TAK is not the overwrap grip to consider. Notwithstanding, it still deserves a 4/5 rating because of its other attributes.

Well, based on the advertising, I was expecting something with a noticeable "stick" since the advertising describes the product as "supertacky". From the moment I began to wrap my squash racquet, to many games later, , neither I nor anyone else who's used my racquet considers the surface "tacky". We all agree it is certainly able to stay dry - which makes it a keeper for sure. Maybe this is actually Karakal's "xdry overwrap" in sheep's clothing?!? In any event, the fact that it stays dry is a huge bonus and as a result your racquet handle will not slip no matter how wet your hand gets. There is plenty of tape provided, and the start is tapered in order to allow for an even and tight wrap. Like most wraps though, the end is not tapered. I'd rate it four of five stars only because the description as "tacky" doesn't seem accurate. Notwithstanding, it does an excellent job and is very durable. Next time I'll order the "XDry" for comparative purposes.
How about these?
The white grips have a peel off membrane and are tacky. Other colours don't and are ok, but nowhere near as good as the white ones.
