The Hyper Hammer 110 is a versatile, forgiving squash racket which is easy to use.

With hammer technology (ie the weight is situated towards the head of the racket) making it easy to control. The racket also incorporates powerholes within the frame which are designed to enlarge the sweetspot area.

The straight stringing pattern also creates a powerful string bed.

The Hyper Hammer 110 is more manoeuvrable and powerful than the Hyper Hammer 120.

This racket comes pre-strung and with a head cover.

PDH opinion “One of our favourite squash rackets as it suits players of all levels. It is lightweight enough for beginners and yet also manoeuvrable making it ideal for more advanced, attacking players”

Please note there is no longer any mention of Hyper on the frame of the racket however this racket is Hyper Carbon construction hence the name Hyper Hammer in the racket title

I want to start by saying I am a self-taught squash player so I play in an unorthodox fashion. I was looking for a racket that aids my style of play which is why I opted for a beginners racket. I hope that my review helps you to decide which racket (Hammer 120 or the Hammer 110) might be better for you. Firstly, lighter does not mean better! Secondly, more expensive does not mean better either! I found the weight distribution is more even on the 110 as opposed to being top heavy. This means you have to work harder to achieve maximum power. The 120 is able to generate the same power as the 110 with less force given that the weight of the head is very good at generating more momentum as the ball is struck. It feels as if the additional 10g on the 120 is all on the head which means you don’t lose manoeuvrability because the handle is still as light as the 110. When returning harder shots coming from your opponent, the 110’s more even weight distribution sends the weight of the speeding ball up your arm and into the collar bone where the 120 being slightly heavier absorbs some of that impact. Finally, regarding the service – brilliant. 5 Stars for customer Service 4 stars for the racket.

I bought a Hammer 110 a couple of months ago now and its a great racket. So much so that i bought a spare this week. The racket is very light which i thought might sacrifice power but the power and control from the head are fantastic. The grip is thin enough too if you have smaller hands but easily padded out with one of the Karakal grips from pdh. Overall very happy.

I upgraded to this racket from a heavier racket. The racket is excellent! The balance is just right, great power & touch. I told myself there had to be a fault somewhere, maybe the strength? No it takes heavy boasts to the wall and laughs back! Great value for money for any player, especially club players.

About 10 months ago I bought the Hyper Hammer 120 over the 110 because of the price difference. I just recently got to use the 110 after buying it for my partner and I regret not paying that little bit extra for the 110. The racket is the perfect beginners to intermediate racket. Light, and lots of power. Great racket at a great price!
