Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my rackets to this version with a restring. I currently use Ashaway Powernick 18 string. What would be the advantages or disadvantages of changing to the Ashaway Supernick XL Micro string?
The Ashaway Powernick 18 offers maximum power whereas the Supernick XL Micro is a softer feel for more control and durability.
Is this more head light than the previous model?
This racket has the same specification as the previous model, but with updated technology.
Would you recommend Dunlop Sonic Core Evolution 120 to an amateur player seeking some forgiveness in sweet spot without compromising power. How does this racket compare with PDHSport 2024 best intermediate racquet suggestion of Dunlop Hyperfibre XT Revelation Pro Lite.
If looking for more power the Dunlop Hyperfibre XT Revelation Pro Lite would be a better choice as it is the teardrop head shape to generate more power and with a slightly heavier frame weight.
I have this racket (Sonic Core Evolution 120, 2022 model) and it's black / blue, not black / white (which last time I checked was the 130 model). Can you confirm this is the same racket?
This racket is the latest version of the Sonic Core Evolution 120. It is Black and White with a Blue grommet stripe. The Evolution 130 is Black and White with a Green grommet strip.

Hi. How would you compare this racket to the head graphene 360 120 speed? I’m intermediate but like power and unforgiving rackets. Thx!
The Head Graphene 360 Speed 120 is a very forgiving racket, as it has a larger head size. The Dunlop Sonic Core Evolution will offer more of a combination of power and control due to the hybrid head shape.
What strings come in this racket? Do you think the Technifibre Dynamix VP 1.15 would be a good upgrade? Is the frame black as shown?
This racket comes pre strung in Dunlop Iconic Pro which is a very good string. Yes the frame is black and sliver/white.
Hi, I’m wanting to buy this racket with a restring. I’m used to using Ashaway Supernick on this racket, but keen to try the powernick 18. What’s the difference between the strings?
The Ashaway Supernick string is a thicker string with better durability and feel, whereas the Powernick string offers more power.

Powered by Srixon. The Sonic Core series is made with Infinergy® by BASF – a super elastic material, with the benefit of being very light, the perfect match to meet the demands of the modern day player.

Infinergy® foam developed by BASF, the world’s first E-TPU, has significantly higher rebound properties to other materials such as EPP, EVA and EPE. When Infinergy® foam is combined with the Sonic Core frame the result is a faster ball speed off the racket for more aggressive shot-making. And the big sweet spot ensures a constant feeling of hitting the sweet spot, even on off-centre shots.

Play with maximum comfort. Sonic Core made with Infinergy® is located in the 2 and 10 o’clock areas of the racket, dampening impact shock and reducing frame vibrations, resulting in a more comfortable hitting sensation and a reduced chance of injury.

Flex Touch Resin: Located at the throat of the racket, the Flex Touch Resin technology has high elasticity, vibration dampening and good repulsion properties. The unique high-performance thermoplastic elastomer compound ensures enhanced control, touch and comfort.

Please note: this racket cannot be restrung in a hybrid string.
